I've joined a book group, on the basis that it would offer some additional social life at almost no cost.
The first book of the year is North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.
I picked up a copy from the library, today and have a couple of weeks to read it. Although an avid reader, I'm a bit daunted by this one. It's not the genre I normally read and I'm not even a fan of Downton Abbey on the tele.
I'll give it my best shot, in the spirit of trying new things.
