Although the first issue is 99p and the second £2.50, the subsequent 88 issues are £3.99 each, This makes it a very expensive hobby by anyones standards.Quilting is meant to be a way to use up scraps of material or give a second life to a piece to a favourite item of clothing. I think the idea of spending the best part of 400 quid on information which can be found on the internet, isn't really in the spirit of what quilting is about.
So, no I'm not on that bandwagon. My interest lies more in upcycling to produce quilts.
My thrifted find today was a stationary (originally) box which I've used to store sewing bits and pieces in.
A perfect home for my growing collection of wooden cotton reels - also thrifted, obviously.
The box was 50p and so far, I haven't paid more than 30p for a cotton reel.

ReplyDeleteToday, I went to the beach front with my children.
ReplyDeleteI found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and
said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear."
She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab
inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
